The American Therapeutic Recreation Association is proud to offer numerous opportunities for professional growth and certification maintenance. Almost without exception, a CEU fee (sometimes referred to as a transcript fee) is required to receive credit.
The American Therapeutic Recreation Association has been accredited as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 1760 Old Meadow Road, Suite 500, McLean, VA 22102; (703) 506-3275. In obtaining this approval, the American Therapeutic Recreation Association has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET Standard which is recognized internationally as a standard of good practice. As a result of their Authorized Provider accreditation status, American Therapeutic Recreation Association is authorized to offer IACET CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standard.

The ATRA Webinar Series is an exciting new approach to learning. ATRA has organized another excellent continuing education opportunity designed to reach out to practitioners across the country. This is a great way to earn CEUs without leaving your home or office. Once again, we are offering both live calls and replays to accommodate any schedule.
ATRA Annuals are collections of research articles and post-tests. These are available for CEU credit up to five years after publication. Members may view electronic versions as membership benefit. We are now seeking manuscripts for Volume 24.
Membership in ATRA includes a subscription to our quarterly newsletter. Each newsletter is packed with industry news, occupational advances, and legislative alerts. After reading our newsletter, answer ten multiple choice questions about the content and return that page of the newsletter with $10USD to be eligible for 0.1CEU. Archived editions are still available for credit for one year. Members must log in to view archives. Non-members may view a sample newsletter.
The American Therapeutic Recreation Association offers recreational therapy continuing education approval and transcripts verifying participation for programs that meet specific criteria. These educational programs will be used by recreational therapists to meet continuing education requirements for Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist national certification.
