Circle Center Adult Day Services provides the Richmond, VA, community with high-quality, cost-effective daycare for frail or functionally-impaired older adults, and respite, education and support for their caregivers. Services and activities are structured to improve the participant's physical, cognitive, and mental capabilities. The caregiver, knowing their loved one is safe and supervised, gets respite and time for other responsibilities. Recreation programming is offered to participants from 8:00am – 5:00pm in a variety of activities. Memory lane is an 8 hour/day program where those who meet the criteria attend daily when at the center. We have a maximum amount of 11 people per day. They are involved in a variety of activities led by the CTRS throughout the day, including meals and ADLs, in Memory Lane. Our programing in memory lane is a Montessori based program method designed to promote independence in daily living and positive engagement with the social and physical environment. A snoezelen program (multi-sensory environment) is also run daily, led by CTRS or trained multi-sensory environment practitioner, which is a multi-sensory environment where participants can experience self-control discovery, and exploration through sight, sounds, touch, and reduce tension. Wellness programming is offered to participants in discussion groups, exercise groups and individual sessions, led by a CTRS.
