Cook Children’s Behavioral Health provides a broad range of care that focuses on children from ages three years through 17, and their families. We also have some limited services available for children age two. The recreational therapist is responsible for implementing therapeutic recreational activities for all psychiatry inpatients and PHP patients. This includes: program planning, treatment implementation and documentation. The therapist will function as a member of the interdisciplinary team to deliver an integrated plan of care. The Recreational Therapist Intern will learn the core functions and job tasks related to providing Recreational Therapy services to Children and Adolescents in an acute and sub-acute psychiatric setting.
