TASKS

Promote awards widely in various media. Develop committee of 3 – 5 members. Solicit and review nominations. Submit recommendations for winners to BOD for approval. Coordinate with the Foundation for the Frank Brasille Award.

Advocate for the profession to the CARF Board and International Advisory Council and educate members about CARF.

Tasks

Develop and implement a process to incorporate treatment networks in standards review as necessary and continue to educate members about CARF standards as they relate to practice. Broadcast the benefits our members receive as a result of ATRA’s CARF involvement. Promote RT within CARF standards.

Collaborate with ATRA committees and members on issues regarding coverage and reimbursement of services.


Tasks

Develop a plan for regulatory initiatives. Work collaboratively with appropriate teams affecting reimbursement, federal and state legislative teams and sections. Assure that ATRA members have access to up-to-date coverage information via website, conference presentations and newsletter articles. Explore alternate structure for this committee. Identify succession plan or recruit.

Position ATRA to influence federal legislation and regulation to positively impact consumers and the practice of RT.


TASKS

Monitor federal regulations and legislation impacting consumers of recreational therapy. Position the association to proactively influence federal legislation and regulation. Provide the membership with regular updates on federal public policy issues via presentations, website, newsletter, blogs, etc. Identify representatives to serve on coalitions. BOD and FPP to develop strategic plan for federal public policy. Explore alternative lobbying options and make recommendations. Explore plan for Public Policy Summit proposed in 2017. Recruit practice/section experts to be members of PP according to new structure.  Develop plan for inclusion of state representatives from chapters into PP committee.
