University Tier 1
3 or Less RT Faculty

FAQ
Who is eligible for University Membership?
University Membership is open to academic programs that offer recreational therapy curriculum. Both undergraduate and graduate RT programs are eligible.
How do we determine whether our program fits Tier 1 or Tier 2?
Tier placement is based on the number of full-time RT faculty members at your institution. Programs with one to three faculty join Tier 1. Programs with four or more faculty join Tier 2.
Can our program upgrade from Tier 1 to Tier 2 later?
Yes. Programs can upgrade at any time if faculty numbers increase or if additional benefits are desired.
How do students receive their ATRA memberships?
Once a program becomes a University Member, ATRA works with faculty to collect student information and process student memberships each academic year.
How do students and faculty receive their digital badges?
Once all of your faculty and students are entered into our database, the digital badges will be automatically administered via email.
How are NCTRC exam scholarships distributed?
Programs select the scholarship recipients internally. ATRA does not participate in the selection process. Once students have been selected, please contact ATRA for next steps.
How do we access internship supervisor training codes?
ATRA provides the codes directly to faculty. Faculty may distribute the codes to selected internship supervisors at their discretion.
Does University Membership auto-renew?
Yes. While ATRA provides renewal reminders each year, University Memberships will automatically be renewed each year.
